The first 15 Ford Escape Hybrid Taxis, introduced in 2005, are all ready to reach 300,000 miles on their odometers. This means they they will be retired from the fleet according to San Francisco's rules. These vehicles have saved the owners over $9000.00 per year!

San Francisco's largest taxi company, Yellow Cab, has over 100 hybrid cars in their fleet and is waiting on 10 new Ford Escapes to arrive. They expect to save even more $$$$ with the newer models.
