GM Launches Cadillac Converj

In addition to GM's series hybrid Volt, Mr. Bob Lutz announced the Cadillac Converj during their press conference at the Detroit Auto Show. With a 40 mile all-electric range, the Converj is the next generation in electric luxury vehicles.

Johnson Controls announces their advanced Li-Ion battery technology. We will discuss more in our eZine. However, the Johnson Controls Li-Ion technology is manufactured in Wisconsin.

Hot car! Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems to look similar to the upcoming Cadillac CTS Coupe. Has GM stated when this model is going into production, or the price range it would be in? How does this vehicle compare to the Chevrolet Volt or the Tahoe Hybrid as far as electric motor and engine design? Are they all similar or has GM gone in different directions for each?

It is a very hot car and we will have more photos and information in the first edition of the AllAmericanHybrid.com eZine. There was no statement concerning price, but the planned launch is 2011. The powertrain will be much the same as the Volt, but the luxury features will be superior - similar to comparing the Tahoe with an Escalade.

I suspect this will drive the cost above the planned $40k price point of the Volt.
